Bibione smoke free

Bibione cares deeply about the health of its guests.

We are therefore pleased to inform you that, starting with the 2019 beach season, smoking will be permitted on the beach only in “designated areas.”

This is a very important initiative that has the support of the World Health Organization and aims to protect the health of beachgoers and the natural environment surrounding this beautiful vacation destination.

After several years of a trial period during which smoking was prohibited only on the shoreline, starting in the summer of 2019, Bibione Beach will be smoke-free (even under beach umbrellas). This will enhance the benefits of the healthy sea air and eliminate cigarette butts, which heavily pollute both the marine and terrestrial environments, as they take decades to decompose.

Near the beach, there will be signs asking guests to follow these guidelines, while those who wish to smoke may, of course, do so in all the restaurants, bars, and beach kiosks, as well as in the areas behind the beach umbrellas, where specific shaded areas will be set up and thoughtfully furnished.

Useful information:

Smoking areas are marked by wooden structures to make them easily recognizable; there will be 40 of them along the 9-kilometer stretch of beach.

The penalty for non-compliance with the regulations is a fine of 50 euros.

The new regulation does not apply to the use of e-cigarettes; however, smoking while in the water is considered a violation of the regulation.

Beach patrols will not be an intrusive presence on the beach, but they will be ready to intervene if necessary.

If any beachgoers decide to smoke on the beach despite clear and widespread signage, you may contact the lifeguards or the Municipal Police to report the violation of the ban.
